  2. I can't get my Car2U® System to go into fixed code programming mode:

    Use ruler or other flat surface to ensure all three buttons are pressed at the same time for 1 to 2 seconds before releasing.

  4. How does the conversion module work?

    The conversion module is an external receiver that is installed to your garage door opener. This allows the Car2U® System to operate with your garage door opener.

  5. Where is the conversion module installed?

    The Conversion Module is installed inside your garage and is connected with wire to the back of the garage door opener motor head.

  6. Will the conversion module effect other transmitters/vehicles programmed to the unit?

    The conversion module will not effect any other transmitters that you currently use to operate your garage door opener.

  7. I have more than one garage door opener that is not compatible, do I need a conversion module for each opener?

    Yes, you will need a conversion module for each garage door opener that you currently are using.

  8. Can I program Car2U® System to my security system?

    If your security system is Z-Wave enabled, you can purchase a Wireless Gateway Module Part #WDHA-12L to work with the Car2U® System. To determine if your security system is Z-Wave enabled, contact your security system manufacturer.

  9. Can I program Car2U® System to my lighting system?

    If the products are operated with Z-wave technology, you will be able to operate the lights in your home. If the product is not Z-wave enabled, you can get the Car2U® System to work by installing the gateway module and a lamp module to control your lighting system.

  10. Can I program Car2U® System to my garage door opener light or security lockout feature?

    Currently, the Car2U® System is unable to program to your garage door opener light(s) or lockout feature.

  11. Is the Car2U® System compatible with products manufactured outside North America?

    Currently, the Car2U® System will not work with your garage door opener or gates outside North America.

  12. After I programmed Car2U® System to my garage door opener, my transmitter or other device no longer works:

    Please contact your garage door manufacturer to determine how many RF devices can be programmed to your door opener. If you have a rolling code system, you may have reached the maximum number of devices that can be programmed into it. Once you reach the maximum number of devices programmed, it will 'bump' or 'knock out' one device.

  15. Why can't I program the Car2U® System to my garage door opener manufactured before April 1, 1982?

    A Consumer Product Safety product alert recommends that consumers do not use the Lear Car2U® Home Automation System with any garage door openers that were built before April 1, 1982. For further details, download the PDF here.
